Bespoke software development
Custom software development services from a London studio: web applications, SaaS platforms, internal tools and integrations, from a written specification through launch and support.
Digital Souls Studios builds software to a specification agreed in writing. The work is bespoke: the application, the data model and the integrations are designed for one business rather than configured from a template. The studio is in London and works remotely with clients in the UK and abroad.
Most engagements are a product or an internal system. Recent examples are the anti-money-laundering compliance platform for ASURISQ ApS, the interview-training platform Minday, and the studio's own products, Scheduler.social and Calorie Genie.
What we build
- SaaS platformsMulti-tenant products with accounts, roles, subscriptions and billing.
- Internal toolsSoftware a team uses for its own work, replacing spreadsheets and manual steps.
- APIs and integrationsAPIs of your own, and connections to the systems the business already runs.
- Compliance and operations softwareWorkflows, dashboards and reporting for regulated work, as in ASURISQ.
- Software with AI in itA language model or an agent wired into the product where it takes a task off a team. See AI and automation.
- Mobile appsiOS and Android apps from one React Native codebase, with the API behind them. See mobile app development.
- First versionsA first release limited to the core features, when the idea needs testing before it needs scale. See MVP development.
What a custom build includes
Every project starts with a written specification: the screens, the data, the integrations, who uses the system and what each of them needs to do. Scope and price are agreed on that document before production starts.
Production covers design, engineering, infrastructure and deployment. Updates are regular during the build rather than a long silence. At launch the system is left in a state a team can run, with documentation and access handed over.
After launch, support is a package rather than an obligation: the all-in-one retainer covers maintenance, servers, deployments and further development from £1,000 to £15,000 a month, with a three-month minimum.
Who does the work
Engineering is led by Isaac Surfraz, with about a decade across software, AR/VR and platform architecture and previous CTO roles at Medical Realities and Minday. Catalina Crisan leads product and direction. Lucas Comte builds back-end systems, with a background in operational software at CERN. The three of them are on the studio page.
01-04
How a project moves
From discovery to deployment, we handle design, engineering, infrastructure, and launch.
- 01
Specification
Tell us about the idea in writing. We put together a specification tailored to the work.
- 02
Production
We design and build it, with regular updates rather than a long silence.
- 03
Launch
We help launch the project and leave it in a state a team can run.
- 04
Support
If you would rather not run it alone, support packages cover maintenance after launch.
Recent public dates: ASURISQ launched in December 2025; Minday went live on IT Jobbank in July 2024 and on Jobindex in August 2025; Calorie Genie reached the App Store in June 2026. The timeline for a new project is set in the specification.
Technologies
The default stack is Next.js and React for the interface, Node.js services, PostgreSQL with Prisma, and AWS or a managed host for infrastructure. Mobile work uses React Native and Expo. AI features use OpenAI models. Where a client already runs a different stack, the work fits it.

Questions
- How much does custom software development cost in the UK?
- Project work is quoted in writing after the specification, so there is no public price list for it. UK day rates and published project bands are set out in the custom software cost guide. The standing packages are published on the home page: the all-in-one retainer is £1,000 to £15,000 a month, and fixed AI builds are £3,000 to £10,000.
- How long does a custom software project take?
- The specification sets the timeline, and the release date is agreed before production starts. The public dates above give the scale of recent work: ASURISQ launched in December 2025, and Minday went live on two Danish job portals in July 2024 and August 2025.
- Do you only work with businesses in London?
- No. The studio is in London and works remotely. Recent clients are in Denmark, and the studio's own products are sold internationally.
- What happens after launch?
- The system is handed over in a state a team can run. If you would rather not run it alone, the retainer covers maintenance, servers, deployments and further work, and can be cancelled after the first three months.
